Just curious on why 'Sugar' Ray Robinson seemingly never had any significant fights with Mexican boxers -- the only fighter I can find is Memo Ayon. With that fight being extremely late in Robinson's career. Can anyone give me some reasoning? Were there even any top-ranked Mexican Welterweight/Middleweights at the time? ***Please understand, this is by no means, any sort of conspiracy theory -- I'm merely curious.
No, there weren't any notable Mexicans for him to fight. Kid Azteca was too inconsistent for me to think that Robbo' 'ducked' him or whatnot.
