Read the original post. Nowhere did I say that Hearns was a "better puncher" than Robinson, because I don't rightly know. I do know that Hearns stopped larger men than Robinson, and did so when he was past 40. Those are facts. And here's a question: How many guys who started at 147 do you know who stopped a LHW champion? I don't see what is accomplished by questioning the evidence that Hearns carried his power into divisions that were 30+ lbs. over 147.
The point I am making is the three kos you refer to were over Jay Snyder when Hearns was 40,Snyder was 37 by the way, had been kod in the 1st round in his previous 2 fights in 3 ,and 4 rds in the fights prior to that and 2 fights before that he was kod in 3 ,in his fight after Hearns he went out in 1 again to a 12 fight novice.Hearns at 47 stopped Shannon Sandling, who never beat a rated fighter was 41 years old and had been stopped by Britains Mark Kaylor years before,Hearns last ko was over John Long in 2005 Hearns was 46 or 47,Long had a19-6-2 record, had lost his last 2 fights to boxers who had 9 wins between them, and he would go on to lose all his next fights. That says to me Hearns stopped 3 nobodies, and by the way they were TKOS not KOS.Which doesnt prove he carried his power up to the bigger men nor did he carry it after the age of 40 ,I dont say Hearns in his prime wasn't a dynamite puncher but at Welter,JM and Middle,I don't say Robinson hit harder with one shot ,but Robinson is being discussed as though he was clearly inferior as a puncher to Hearns, and I see no evidence of that on either man's record.Robinson only competed once at LH against Maxim who had a top chin so even without the facts I have shown it would still be a possible not a given that Hearns hit harder at higher weights.Hearns destroyed an unfocused ex Lightweight in Duran and Cuevas who whs clearly outmatched and looked rather awestruck, he in turn was destroyed by Duran in contrast Robinson stopped BIG Middles like Lamotta ,Turpin,Olson, and Fullmer ,Champions not journey man.Thats my take on it.
The fact remains that Hearns stopped naturally larger men, journeymen, long after he should have been retired. You can give a sideways glance to who they were, but for me it's clear that the man could punch like hell at an advanced age and against larger men. You bring up Roldan as if it's no big deal. Roldan was strong as 6 or 7 bulls and durable as those bears he wrestled. Watch 4:30 and keep in mind that Andries hadn't been stopped but once before in 9 years: [yt]GR4cnuSzupk&feature=related[/yt] Paul Pender is no authority, any more than you or I, about who is the greatest puncher who ever lived. And keep in mind he hadn't eaten a Hearns' right. Hagler said that Hearns hit him harder than anyone this side of Cyclone Hart. Just so we're clear --I have no problem with anyone saying that Robinson was the better puncher. None. But then, nor would I if someone goes with Hearns...
I have no problem either way ,and I think Robinson likely stops those three stooges too, especially as they were tkos.
Mcvey, seriously, don't bother with Manasshole. He's just a sophomoric little pretender who emotes on line. I suspect that he gave birth to Wealthy Elite out of his anal canal.
Cut the crap, and give your opinion, young man,now that you are at liberty again.Or has Borstal made you bitter and twisted,[was it the potting shed?]
