He would win some lose some at 160 imo, 147 he's a monster and if 154 was about when he was he would for me be no1 in 2 weights all time.

They have FloJo at WW beating Robinson as a MW FFS.

Prime Mayweather couldn't survive 5 with old Hagler Hearns, GGG, or even a green Canelo if allowed to weigh as a MW.

    Ridiculous

    Ok

SRR today would be the PPV King with KO Ws over Mayweather, Pac, Cotto, Martinez, Sturm etc.

    Who at 160 beats him.

He'd be A SIDE to everyone and no judges would risk giving a draw against him when he wins 8 clear.

Prime GGG would be outboxed from the outside, and Ray's footwork wouldn't allow Gennandys power to be a factor.
Gennady wins 3 clean, but loses a 7/5 type decision cause nobody is robbing the guy who had dominated 3 weight classes before they go

Its a hard fight for Golovkin but he's to strong for SRR at 160. I can pick loads of fighters at middle over the years that I would take to beat him, only my opinion of course, but he's not invincible like he is at welter as his career record shows.

Prime GGG? We haven't even seen Prime GGG, at least at the top level anyways. Sugar Ray gets beat at middleweight by GGG, no doubt. Sugar Ray Robinson was best at welter for sure. As good as Robinson was, at middleweight he gets absolutely eaten alive by the very very best at that weight. At welter he is pretty much unstoppable for the most part, but at middle I think he qualifies in the top elite category, but at the lower end of that category.

Old, current GGG, it's a 50-50 at middle. But young, fast, slim, prime GGG? Give me a break, he's on a suicide mission against that GGG.

Merely opining against the idea that he wouldn't be the same in modern times.

    He'd be better.

Modern training, and far less meaningless fights would add yrs to his prime, and he wouldn't be the shopworn fighter who went to MW at the end of his career.

    Just saying.....

If he were 33/34 making his MW debut against Martinez or Sturm he'd continue his unbeaten streak over the top P4P WWs, LMWs into the MW division where only a handful of fighters would have the skills/power to hang had he began his career in 2006

Sugar Ray weighs about 7 lbs. now. I doubt he can take it to the body.

Here is washed-up,WAY past his prime SRR against a hall of famer who was much heavier than he was, in his first fight in 1951 after EIGHTEEN FIGHTS IN 1950. And oh yeah, in the 13th round.

That's why he is the greatest of all time.

Ali was way past him prime when he came back at 30 in 1970. He fought until 1981, won and lost the title, fought in some of the greatest most popular fights of all time... But he was still MUCH better before his layoff.

Debatable mate, not being argumentative with you, BUT, I feel Ali came back with his speed slightly diminished but with more strength/core strength. He was still in his prime years in 1970 at 28 once he shook the rust off

Id say that Ali was heavier and smarter after coming back, but I was watching the Bonavena fight yesterday and it was a real battle. Ali'e reflexes seemed much slower.
