That's more wins vs ranked fighters than Muhammad Ali's whole career fight total. It almost equals Louis', Hagler's and Hearns' career fight total. The 17 losses look bad, but let's be real, who cares ? Aside from those modernists who swear that their favourite's record of 16-2 vs ranked fighters or whatever totally compares to Robinson's resume. He was over 40 years old for 8 of those losses and very close to 40 for 3 of them. A 38 year old Robinson prior to the Pender bouts sat at a crazy 63-6-1. A 30 year old pre-Maxim bout Robinson sat at 58-2-1. He beat the 3rd best Welterweight in the world and then beat a borderline top 10 ATG Middleweight within 7 days. Now tell me, what did you do last week ?

Hi Buddy. Wow, we all knew of this win / lose record, but looking at it in print, is a wholly different matter, thanks for your patience, by the way, not an enviable task typing all the above, but good for younger members, or beginners, or even old men like me, seeing this stark, there is only 2 really, Sugar Ray or Greb, and whilst mine is Greb, this resume can put doubts in my mind. Many thanks for your input, not only for this topic, but the many interesting and informative post going back, in the words of a Bond film " Nobody does it better " respect. stay safe buddy, chat soon. Mike.
