Sugar Ray's most impressive win

Either the Hearns fight because of the adversity and physical disadvantages he had to overcome or Hagler because it was a great performance against one of the greatest middleweights ever after a 3 Year layoff.

 

The Hagler fight and Duran 2 for me.

You left Benitez & Lalonde off the list.
Benitez was a great fighter & Lalonde, while not great, was much much bigger than SRL & really should have been able to beat SRL easily.

Either way, I think the Hagler fight is his greatest win but his absolute peak was probably Duran II - no WWT other than SRR would beat Leonard that night.... Id give Hearns I the honour of being his gutsiest/dig deep type performance tho so it depends what your looking for.

Yes, but he never lost those other titles in the ring & going into the Leonard fight I never heard 1 single person say that anyone other than Hagler was the best MWT in the world, in fact best p4p in the world also.

I know for the most part it was 7-5 for Ray. Late money must have changed it maybe.

 

Have to say i am shocked you scored the first Duran fight to Leonard, but hey, to each his own

 

It was Leonard until about the eve of the fight and then it turned to Hearns. George Kimball has the odds for all the Fab Four's fights in his book "Four Kings" (read it! Read my review on Amazon!).

 

I need to freshen up on my reading comprehension....! I'll say Hagler... but that's by ignorning the shenanigans and watching his boxing alone... which was magnificent.

 

Benitez was a mightily impressive win, obviously Hearns and Duran rematch. For me his performance vs Benitez was outstanding.

Yes, Hagler was his biggest ever hurdle to climb.
