For reals? Unless Kownacki suddenly learned some defense and conditioning, he’s going to get beat up again.

I expect Kownacki to come out with his left hand high like Nishioka did with his lead right against Donaire.
I think that is the extent of fatsos capabilities to adapt.

**** me, I forgot how ugly of a boxer Kownacki is. So damn sloppy.

IMO, all Kownacki has to do is oblige Helenius when the man wants to clinch. Clinch up, work the body and let the referee separate you. Reset and start boxing from distance again.
Focus on the jab and break down that body. No need to rush anything as Helenius fights at a very conservative pace.

Helenius did his best work when Kownacki got aggressive.

It would be good if Konecki would make an attempt to get into better shape for this fight.

I don't understand people like Konecki and Ruiz. Overeating is more important to them than success.

More precisely, it's a case of overeating the 'Standard American Diet' or 'Western Pattern Diet'. Many of these "in shape" heavyweights will blow outwards after their careers come to an end due to calorie restriction throughout their careers. They will be met with dietary thermogenesis.

Kownacki is a slob and is horrible to watch. I can't believe how much attention he was getting.

    People underrate Kownacki here

He still has an iron Chin and great KO power. He can walk people down. Yes it’s HW boxing and everyone can get KOd but this was his first KO loss. He is a better boxer than a shot Helenius, Helenius just landed a lucky punch.

What people fail to realize is that in HW boxing you don’t have to have the boxing skills of a 130lb fighter. You can have basic boxing fundamentals and an iron chin with KO power and it will take you far in the division. That’s why Kownacki has blasted a lot of HW contenders out with ease.

I don't think so. I think he was incredibly overrated before the loss. He hadn't beaten anyone of note and he struggled with washed up Arreola.

I said from the beginning that Kownacki's utter lack of defense would be his undoing.

You can't fight at the top level using your face as your primary defense.

It will catch up with you and it predictably caught up with Kownacki.

Maybe he will try at least try to keep his hands up now and fight a little smarter.

I like Kownacki in the rematch,, if and I mean if he comes into this fight at a reasonable weight. What I find strange is the rematch happening at all. I thought Helenius might get a shot at a bigger name , a Wilder comeback fight, or a title eliminator .Now if he drops this fight he's back to square one.

In the broadcast they said Kownacki's girlfriend told his trainer she was pregnant before him to avoid interrupting his training, but he did not look like the product of training so intensive you don't acknowledge your children.

Slow and easy to hit. He's tailor-made for Wilder.

Helenius' best work was always countering. Peter knockdowns, hurting Whyte, dropping Kownacki.
