It's those big-ass calves of his - him lifting off his toes off those gives just that little bit extra "hurtin' bombs"
:hi:No kidding, I was hoping Floyd might bite after Oscar said that Manny's punches had no power and couldn't give Oscar the face-saving KO out he wanted.

    Precise and concise:good

    Not true...
During high speed movements like throwing a punch you need to bend your knees, as you push into the ground and extend your hips the muscles are compressed and contract rapidly which lengthens the tendons. The achilles tendon is lengthened very early on so it recoils rapidly at the end of the movement. The calf muscles shorten early on before you extend your body and by the time the achilles tendon is providing the power causing you to explode off the balls of your feet your calf muscles are working nearly isometrically. The calf muscles are there for support during a punch, they can't add much to it.
It's the plyometric exercises Ariza has Manny and Khan doing that are giving them that little extra edge in power. Training the tendons and nervous system to be more efficient.

Don't know about that; but I am referring to SI unit for Force, and not the over-bearing person that explained it.

if you throw 6 punches and 5 of them lands, and the land with speed and power, then you gonna get bruised..If you look at the Margarito fight, try to see HOW many times margo was hit CLEAN in the face for 12 rounds!! it was insane...
