Everyone is talking like he looked THAT bad last night, not even considering the 170 lb wrestling, **** clash of styles..and the he easily won the fight, the KO just added to it..

He aint what he once was, but I think he has got a good fight left in him..

I said this in another thread: Shane didn't look good last night, but I don't think it was particularly due to him being 37 years old. I think it was more of the fact that he was fighting at an unnatural weight for him, 154lbs. He fares better at 147.

He's not a completely shot fighter. What really surprised me is that according to compubox, he only got hit 73 times!!!!!

Well, it wouldnt suprise me, but Im sure that he was hit more than that..

A lot of Mayorgas ish either had no steam, was glancing, or rabbit though..His main thing was wrestling cause he knew he was the bigger man.

He is not shot but he is past his prime. This is Mayorga a guy who is used to fighting at higher weight classes. Not to mention he usually makes for ugly fights. Before i make a decision i need to see him fight one more time.

Shane Mosley has not been "Sugar" since before Vernon forrest.

he IS still however a terrififc compedative fighter with a good shot to beat ANYONE at or arround 147 pounds....though I think MArgarito would be a bad fight for him.

he hasnt looked any worse or any better since his fight with Estrada...and that was quite a few years ago.

I was impressed with Mosley last night. The fact that he could move up in weight, wrestle and brawl like that with a guy 10 pounds bigger than him, and still come out in the last round and score a KO at 37 years old was pretty amazing. I also think that this was the most determined Mayorga has been since Forrest and Mosley still clearly beat him and knocked him out. Mayorga's wrestling and clinching made it an ugly fight, but Shane still managed to make up for it and give us something memorable in the end.

all anyone has to do is watch that fight...Shane hasnt lost a single step since then,I think people expect to see Shane look like he did 12 years ago when he fouught Oscar the first time...he is not that guy anymore but hes still a top 10 probably top 5 contender....why anyone is saying hes shot or a agtekeeper is beyond me.

Well hes not quite as explosive and doesnt have the same energy as he once did but this is still a man with good punching power,a nice arsenal of punches, great handspeed,12 round stamina,a hell of a chin, still light on his feet and hes still hungry. Shane Mosley is still a great fighter and could fight a couple different ways he looked fantastic in the Vargas rematch and Collazo fight he really couldnt have looked any better those nights the Cotto fight bothered me cause I know if he didnt stay flat footed looking for 1 punch most of the fight he could have easily won it he still won it IMO though. Nothing about him is shot at all you wont find many better 37 year old fighters then him in recent times.

Still a good fighter, but way past it.
Look what DLH did to Mayorga 2 years ago. Mayorga had the same style in that fight and DLH had a much easier time.
I think Shane can still win a belt but IMO he can't beat the top guys anymore (Margo, Williams)
