I have a tendency to elevate one's greatness based thier courage and, spine n' sac if you will. So yeah, just a bit to elucidate on my fighter-analytical inclination. Do appreciate well-read rebuttle though.
absolutely brilliant fighter, peerless at 135 at the time, hell of a 147&154 fighter, definte hof&atg.....but id not say hes equal with srl
Familys more important jackass. After Mosley spent 7 months training for and fighting Fernando Vargas he promised his big ass FAMILY vactions and he couldnt be ready for the date he said let Margarito and Floyd fight and Mosley would glady fight the winner in February. Why after Mayweather beat DLH did he claim he was retired when Mosley was open for a fight and Floyds number 1 rated WBC challenger ? The minute Mosley signed to fight Cotto did Mayweather come out of retirement to fight little Hatton.
Absolutely. Shane Mosley had the talent of either of the other two, for sure. Shane at 135 may have been the perfect fighter...if he had stayed there he'd probably be undefeated. But he moved up 12 pounds to dethrone Oscar, who is naturally bigger than him and was considered one of the best fighters on the planet. Like SRR he never dodged anyone...even went out of his way to take risky fights like Forrest, Wright, Collazo, Estrada, Cruz...fights he did not need to take but did anyway. Mosley never dodged anyone. He has a good record with wins over DLH twice, twice over Vargas, Leija, Wise, Collazo, Cruz, Estrada, Johnson, Taylor, Holday, Molina, and others. He also has close losses against Forrest, Wright, and at 38 damn near upset Miguel Cotto. I think Shane deserves the title. He's one of the best fighters ive seen and a great physical specimen.
Still beating that same tired ass drum I see. For someone claiming NOT to be a Mosley hater you sure are in every thread about him kicking dirt. Using Mosley and "ducked" in the same sentence is comical in its self, even more so when you're talking about Zab. [ ] Knowledgeable poster [x] Mosley hater
Shane mosley coulda woulda shoulda , its a shame he never lived up to he's Sugar tag and looking back on he's career at present he will only be remeberd for twice beating De la Hoya , the 4 losses to forrest and winky wright sealed he's fate and never was the same again and he's next fight vs mayorga which he should win will not bring him any closer to being a Sugar
I think he is a great fighter, top 15 of his era/generation, around the same standard as Joe Calzaghe, Winky Wright and Johnny Tapia level, but not up there with the very best of his era like RJJ, Bernard Hopkins, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr.
