I know this isn't strictly British boxing, but does anyone else worry about Mosley's inactivity??

He's one of my favourite boxers but he's getting on for 40.

If he's waiting for big fights like Mayweather and Pacquiao, by the time he gets them he will be an old man like Roy Jones when Calzaghe cherry picked him.

He has a genuine chance of stamping his authority on the 147lb division. if he cleans up Berto, Clottey, a rematch with Cotto, Mayweather and Pacquiao...and perhaps Paul Williams...he could go down as a true ATG.

one fight a year for someone of his age/talent is not enough. he needs to up the ante or end up like Ali - being beaten by bums with half the talent due to the age difference. he still has a lot to give, but only for a limited time. he needs to start churning out some big fights soon.

Events, unfortunately, conspired against him this year. I fully expect him to dazzle again when he fights Berto and he can then take on the Pac/May winner. If neither of them are interested, then he may as well pick up the other belt and look at a Cotto rematch.

Looking at Mosley's record he normally averages a fight every 5-7 months. His best performances come when he's back in the ring 4-5 months after. Any longer and it seems he struggles.

When he steps into the ring against Berto it will be 372 since he destroyed Margarito. He could of took a keep busy fight yet he hung around for the bigboys...now he faces a very sharp young champion who he will need to be somewhere near his best to beat. I think he will beat Berto...and the rest of the division he sees in a state of depression there mostly all fighters who are coming back from losses and Williams has bigger fish to fry literally.

He is a massive risk to fight and Margarito was using him for a name and it backfired so that's a big reason why fighters haven't been keen on fighting Sugar.
