The conclusion of that bbc documentary was a load of bollocks. They basically said that specific running shoes were not as good as running bare foot which of course is not an option for most people. And that it was better to correct your running technique rather than getting a shoe to compensate for your flawed running style. While I agree that it is better to correct your technique and form than relying on a shoe to compensate for you it's not an easy thing to do and if you don't know what you are doing you could easily injure yourself.
