    I have an idea.

A lot of people want a superheavyweight division. I say there are enough fat-****s out there. A better idea is thus:

Go back to cruiser being 190, and call the new cruisers "Junior Heavyweights" with a 205 limit.

Boxing did everyone a solid when they moved the crusier limit up to 200, as they are now legit junior heavies who can more easily transition. But as heavies have gotten bigger, the limit should go up again for he same reasons.

However, it is already a lot for a lightheavy to put on 25 pounds to compete at a higher weight, and adding another 5 will exacerbate that. Additionally, it will be more of a steep hill for lighter crusiers to overcome within the divison. The solution is simple: add something at the old 190.

    175
    190
    205
Tall guy/ Fat ****/Sky is the limit

Sound like a good idea? Maybe we can petition the ratings boards.

Personally I wouldn't like to see anymore weight divisions but I can see it coming in the not too distant future. I just hope if it happens that they still call the highest weight ''heavyweight'' and not ''super heavyweight''. HW has always been and should always be the highest weight so instead of working forward of it they should work back. It's like this-if HW was kept and the new division was called SHW then you start rating the greatest HW's of all time who are you rating? The old HW's with the new HW's or the old HW's with the new SHW's? Cruiser weight should keep it's name even if it's reduced and the new weight could be called super cruiser weight. Boxing evolves and changes but it really hasn't changed a lot in the last 100 or so years. I just don't like to see certain traditions in boxing being tampered with.

Or we cut back the amount of divisions.. Minimumweight, flyweight, bantamweight, featherweight, lightweight, welterweight, middleweight, super middleweight, light heavyweight and then heavyweight.

Why exactly, despite all the divisions you dropped, would you keep super-middleweight?

My thinking was to bump up SMW to 170/172 and light heavy to 185... And 10 divisions sounded like a good amount... ;)

I'd get rid of a lot of the lower weight divisions, honestly 3-4lbs is not a huge difference.

    Less divisions.
Back to the ye olde days with 9 divisions and add cruiser.

No more "6 division champions" unless they are prepared to pull a Duran.

Exactly, I've been saying something like this for years. Mainly, we don't need a SHW division, but I think raising the CW division by 5 ten pounds would accomplish a lot of good

UFC has a pretty good spread for the weight divisions.

Yeah, that's what boxing needs, more divisions, brilliant.
