When Canelo rematches Bivol is the WBC belt not on the line then too?

 

I think this goes back to late last year when the WBC declared that they would not sanction fights involving fighters from Russia or Belarus because of their war against Ukraine.

I find it hypocritical that the WBC will sanction fights put up by the Saudis, one of the worst human rights violators on earth, but then they refuse to sanction fighters just because they have Russian heritage, something totally beyond a fighter's control - we don't get to choose where we're born.

It´s pretty weird how Sulaiman has only now made this public announcement. We know the WBC has barred Russian nationalists from competing in their sanctioned fights, but this unification has been talked about since November of last year.

regardless of belts, bivol vs Beterbiev would be a great fight. belts or no belts the boxing fans will know who the best of 175 is.

Who cares if the wbc are being divas. The winner of that fight is still the best LHW in the world.
