I agree **** the sanctioning bodies this is the best thing that could ever happen. I'm not an Oscar fan but thank God for GBP and HBO. I wish this would have happened years ago.

Without getting into the merits of his points, coming from Sulaiman, it's a bit rich.

Sulaiman saying someone or something is bad for boxing is like Hitler saying that someone has a racist attitude towards Jews.

He and his organization have become laughable over the past decade.

    Champion emeritus?

Eliminator re-matches because they didn't like the result ?

The once venerable WBC has become a joke, and that has happened on Sulaiman's watch.

He should be embarrassed to be seen or heard on any topic.

I don't even have a problem with this attitude, I just want people to apply the same standard in all cases.

If the belts are meaningless, then stop making BS arguments about "The Klitschkos won't unify the belts. WAH!!!!"

If you want the belts to be meaningful, on the other hand, then public enemy #1 is Chad Dawson, who has dropped two straps in approximately a year because he wouldn't fight mandatories (Diaconu, Cloud). And the incredible 'upside' of doing so was to fight in front of, reportedly, a combined 2,000 full-paying customers. If that's "moving on up" by giving up the belts, I'd hate to see the alternative.

Just be consistent, that's all anyone should ask. Making selective arguments to try to help out 'your guy' isn't going to cut it. For anyone, or any of "their guys."

The best thing that could happen to boxing would be the sanctioning bodies dissapearing and the ring belt being the only prize. Even if GBP own it the fights involving the ring belt have a higher standard of fighter battling for them, hows that bad for the sport?
    **** sulaiman

If he fights mandatories then "who gives a damn about corrupt ranking mandatories!" and if he fights others then he's ducking mandatories.

    Find something new please.

Truth be told HBO, Showtime and even ESPN have been downplaying ABC groups for years now. Back before Oscar and Co bought RING mag...

Sulaiman is lucky that the WBC is even still here. They have switched to backing Euro fighters being that the European fighters have no problem paying the fees that they want. The fighters in THE Americas both north and south arent as willing to pay the fees anymore, it has little to do with Oscar and GBP.

And it's also worth noting that Diaconu had his chance and got hurt. Since coming back from his injury, he struggled to scrape out a decision to Chris Henry and had another fight axed due to injury. He had a fight sandwiched in against a token opponent. Since 2007, he's had two fights and his next fight is against a converted SMW in Jean Pascal. Not exactly much to be udkcing is it?

Right that's true. The commentators don't call them "Alphabet Soup Organizations" for the fun of it. The organizations have nobody to blame but themselves. The WBA for it's brutal Super/Ulta/Alpha Mega Champion statuses, the WBO for being in the back pocket of Frank Warren and the WBC for its insane level of ties to Don King. Even the IBF has it's problems.

Indeed. Dawson is looking for the big names out there and I don't see how these mandatories are proving anything, he could fight and beat them for years with people claiming he's doing nothing. Abraham did that he's being insulted for it, it's becoming a popularity contest now.
