I view the heavyweight champion as the #1 person in the boxing. The Lion who accepts challenges from others who fight him for his status. If he declines, he losses his status. If he wins he continues his lineage. He doesn't pick on the weak, enter the ring with a " dad body " with love handles, and stays active.

#15 in the WBC is more like #30 in the world.

 

I think Fury fears losing his gravy train title. Absolutely, 100%. That's why he has not fought Jousha ( despite being lineal for 5 nearly 5 years ) and to use your words is offering a ****ty defense.

While he doesn't fear a limited boxer, put him in there with a man in his prime who can both punch and box and we'll see. Whomever he picks will be neither.

Don't l get me wrong a close to top 10 opponent will be okay once in a while. Fury is bottom feeding.

 

Fighting Hunter would silence the bum fighter critics to a degree and be more equivalent to what Joshua is doing in terms of level. If he couldn't beat Hunter he's not beating Usyk. Fury believes he has the beating of these smaller HWs, so shouldn't be too worried.
If he fights Takam or others he should be rightfully slammed for it. Even Kabayel might deserve some criticism given that Hunter claims he is available to fight.

I feel that the Schwartz and Wallin fights were understandable because he rushed the comeback and was actually going to have similar fights before the Wilder fight initially, but jumped in to fight Wilder a little undercooked.

But now he's back in form and there's no need for it. Everyone has been inactive, so that's not really an excuse.
