Given the fact that most of Wilder's opponents seem to be battling a cold or taking a dive to the canvas before a punch has even landed, it does seem that Wilder has a lot of funny money behind him, and that includes to use to make sure those at the WBC have a nice time and enjoy some of the finer things in life. :deal:deal

Drug Money or Just modern day gangster money:deal

I know the rules. If he fights Wlad then it's over a year since he won the belt. If anyone thinks this situation isn't being manipulated they're naive. From how he got the title fight. Two how he earned a larger purse against Stiverne who was champion. To Molina's ranking for the fight. Wilder's reign is a stain on the sport. More power to a Wlad he'll take him out in under 4 rounds and finally be unified. He has earned it.

    Yes, it does.

Scroll down to the bottom of page 13.

Under bylaw 3.8, "Special Bout Sanction(s)" it specifically includes fights against "the champion of another organization" -- which is what we call unification bouts.

Will Wilder fight him? He basically fought a fighter outside the top 50 in his first defense. And for his second he's looking to fight Arreola a fighter that is not a legit top 20 anymore. This guy is feeding on Haymon/King stooges.

Thanks. Looks clear. We might not have to wait so much before Wilder-Wlad, after all.

Yeah WBC really covered all their bases with that rule. A champion must face their mandatory unless 1. The WBC feels an elite challenger deserves the chance. 2. A special bout arises against another champion. (Unification) because they do that all the time (sarcasm) 3. If for any other reason we hold the right to allow another fight (basically if something crooked comes up that we haven't covered yet we cover our behinds)

I thought it would unfold that Wlad would face Glazkov and Wilder would face Povetkin then their would be a unification. Either way I'm happy the division is being unified. Just appalled that Wilder has done so little to earn that spot. Shows what money can do behind the scenes.

Please, Wlad beat Jennings who was mandatory before Povetkin was. Wlad should have become mandatory at that point anyway.

I knew this was going to happen. All along Deontay was saying, "It's not if I fight Klitschko, but when".

This is pretty awesome as Wlad will fight DW for his 20th title defense and be the first HW to own all 5 belts.

He can then fight Glazkov for his 21st consecutive title defense and retire as the #3 best HW of All-Time.

Hopefully he keeps fighting and fights probably the best fighter he will ever face (if Anthony Joshua keeps progressing).

If I was handling Wilder I would JUMP at this opportunity to cash out. 80% of a $3 million purse vs. Povetkin with a 70% chance of losing is way worse than a 50% cut of a $14 million purse vs Wlad with a 95% chance of losing!

Yeah I gotta feeling Wilder-Wlad will start negotiating right after his Fury fight before WBC schedules purse bid for Povetkin.

Wlad-Wilder on Showtime, bring it on.

Well in all honesty there is no way Wilder gets 50/50 with Wlad. Wlad has 3 belts to his one, and more importantly is the A side. Wlad will receive the larger share I would say 65-35.
Still ridiculous how wilder is being so carefully maneuvered.

Ibragimov got 50%. So did Haye.

I feel Wlad wants the WBC belt so badly, and knows this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance he will probably agree to 50/50 again. He did so with Haye, too. Wlad said recently he isn't boxing for money, he looks for legacy and this belt is the one he's missing (and never held).

Just my opinion of course, K2 maybe completely disagree.
