He's ranked 3 in the WBC, 2 in the WBA, and 2 in the WBO. Ward just vacated two of those belts. Barrera might be in line for a higher amount on a purse bid and against an easier opponent.

You can forget about the WBC. And how can he win good money on purse bids when his promoter doesnt have money and they can't bid more than 200K ? Look at the purse bid between GYM and Main Events.

Barrera is screwing himself. He should've been on ESPN fighting for the title next month, instead he's doing nothing.

Limited Smith Jr. ??? Man you need to apologize for that. Smith retired Hopkins like a boss and KO'd the Polish Prince. There a guy on here that was getting kudos for beating ****ing Gabe Rosado back in the day like he just beat prime Foreman.

All he got is power and desire to make it big. But thats not enough in a deep division. Polish girrafe isnt a top 10 LHW and BHop was asking for a beating.
Barrera is a top 10 175'er and if Smith would've beat him BHop style or even a fast KO like against Fonfara, then yea, I would've said I was wrong and you, Big Willie, were right.
    But that wasnt the case.
I hope Smith gets back in the mix. America badly needs top boxers in the heigher weights.

Doesn't want to fight Beterbiev, doesn't want to fight Kovalev. Sooner or later this guy is going to have to **** or get off the pot. If he whacked out Beterbiev and Kovalev they got no choice but to give him a title shot.

This. Fighting Kovalev for chump change isn't worth the risk if there isn't a title up for grabs. Also, even if Barrera were to beat Kovalev even by knockout I don't think it would do much at this time for Barrera's resume, since Kovalev's stock took a huge nosedive after the second Ward fight. A lot of people see Kovalev as damaged goods now.

He took all these other fights for little to no money... and yet he scoffs at 300K. One would think going from zero to 300K is a big gain. The logic doesn't add up. Imagine if he won, he'd be the Champ and could command his fair value...

Kovalev didn't make anything for the SOB cheat fight when SOB landed three low blows in a row. Who is Barrera? Let him stay in the shadows and do nothing. He would have gotten knocked out against Kovalev, Bivol, Gvszdyk, Beterbiev so who will he fight? He won't fight Stevenson or Alvarez....................is he a prima donna? Is he a star?

The logic is there. Barrera wants a big guarantee, which no one was willing to give.
The man made 450k vs Ward, was willing to accept 300k for Kovalev, but wanted a guarantee if he were to beat Kovalev.
