You have done really well with all that. I found it really hard to find a lot on him. A lot of what I did find was Wrestling not boxing, also. For a long time many would say on these boards that he beat Foley "on debut" it just doesnt happen. You dont meet the class fighters "on debut" and come away with a win. Foley was getting on when he lost but he was still the Australian Champion and it was a huge win.

Farnan is another one that is hard to find info on. It is quite famous that he came to Sydney to challene Foley. Again, it is unlikely he would do this with only a handful of fights. In australia in particular, the press was and to be honest still is very small. Most events will not make their way into the newspapers at all. Our boxing tents for example would have fights every day that were not recorded. Most if not all of the fighters in those tents and other arenas would meet.
Later on, Jackson was considered clearly the best fighter in Australia, by everybody (including Fitzsimmons). His record is very good but on the surface not as good as the esteem he was held by other fighters. I think the fighters knew who was up to it or not. I think many exhibitions were all in, or close to it in the sense that the fighters would pull back only if the other guy was in trouble. I am certain Fitz and Jackson knew who was the best fighter and i doubt Fitz could make any impression on him at all. The same goes with many other fighters. These contenders were not just plucked out of air (As was common when Jeffries toured and often fought third raters that are not even mentioned on his record nowadays).

Janitor is right when he says that we have simply lost most of the info on these boards.
