Sultan Ibragimov has recently announced his retirement. I believe Sultan will go down as one of the greatest heavyweights in history who has a win over euro-level heavyweight and all time great Evander Holyfield. His only loss comes to possibly the greatest heavyweight of all time. This thread is dedicated to Sultan.

This is a move that baffles me, that guy could BANG!!! He has skills. He lost to Wlad just like everyone else. Hell he would beat Haye. I have no clue why this guy retired. Health reasons???:huh

Ibragimov has wins over Evander Holyfield, whom he thoroughly outboxed and outclassed. He also beat Shannon Briggs, Lance Whitaker, and was robbed against Ray Austin, and retired at the top of his game.

Ibragimov was one of the few heavyweights that I believe could fight in any era and be competitive with the best. He decision to retire, while it will save him his heatlh, has robbed him of pursuing a greater legacy.

was never very impresed with him. far from a great. woudla been pounded by many heavyweights in every era. may he have a peaceful retirement though if that is the route he chooses to go. that klitschko fight was one of the worst fights i have ever seen.

he was being trained by the incompetent jeff mayweather, whose influence caused him to deviate from his effective european style in favor of an ineffective american-level heavyweight strategy.

Valuev will also be remembered as a great heavyweight. He, like Ibragmov, outclassed one of the greatest American heavyweights of all time in Holyfield and also has quality wins over John Ruiz, Jameel McCilne, but a loss to fellow great Ruslan Chagaev.

Uh...you mean Valuev will be remembered as hands down the GOAT? The only one who may one day match his greatness is my boy Sascha Povetkin, but that remains to be seen.

Povetkin has future ATG written all over him.
