:rofl ladies and gents we have ourselves a white version of jermain taylor in the heavyweight division. atsch
yep, he didn't win it controversially, but still just like taylor didn't seem to try anything approaching risky. as for wlad is pavlik. he's much better than pavlik, well, except for his desire to give his chin a work out, but yeah the pavlik jab controlled taylor just like the wladimir jab will control sultan :rofl
well i am being loose with the comparison. but here's my reason for the parody on sultan. he looked exciting and brought the fight to the opponents on his way up. a former olympian like taylor as well. taylor likewise was exciting on his way up, until he met hopkins. then he runs into austin like taylor ran into hopkins in their first fights. they also changed trainers. the combination of different trainers and some self doubt, has converted them into fighters who seem to fight to their oppositions level, nothing more, nothing less. they flurry and back up often. i think hopkins took some confidence from taylor when he roughed him up late in the fight and also hurt him. same for austin hurting sultan. they seemed to mentally change. but the main reason is in the holyfield fight i got this impression that sultan was content to box his way to a safe decision, and only fight when forced into action. probably a very loose connection... but damn i find it funny!
You may have made a point there. But I think that Sultan“s current style is the only one that will work for him given his small size. He is no Frazier or Tyson so this Mayweatherish run and punch fashion is the best option available.
