No doubt that he could have made CW easily, but how would he have done. Could he have been great? At the very least I see him picking up a strap or two.

he'd probably beat everyone except Haye. JC Gomez would pose a threat too if they crossed paths. Jirov would lose.

To label someone great is always a tough call but seeing how he performed at heavyweight I certaintly believe he could have been very very good. Certaintly a top dog for a few years.

Not sure he could have lost 20+ pounds and still have been as effective. He wasn't a rock hard type but didn't carry a gut either. And he was 6-2... Just rewatched his effort against Briggs. Pretty impressive.

If we're talking about 200 pounds, he would've been about the same size. a guy that big with his physique should be able to weigh in 15 less the day before.

I liked Sultan...thought his title win vs Briggs was impressive as well. I also think he was better than all of Wlad's other opposition. I think he would have beaten Haye.

That would have been a great fight.... If Haye actually had the guts to get in the ring with him

He fought heavyweight as an amateur so I'm not sure he makes it to CW so easy, but assuming he could then I think he could have won all the titles. Very good fighter.

I always remember him saying after the Austin draw was the reason he lost is because he discovered Mcdonald's for the first time, lol. He was a career high 231 that night, so there's reason to believe him.

I heard through a source that I trust back in my boxing days that he made a ton of money from Russian television deals for the Holyfield and Klitschko fights, and had no problem walking away because of said money.

Pro cruiserweight is basically the same thing as amateur heavyweight (200 max vs 201 max). Pro cruisers are actually bigger because they're given more time to rehydrate before a fight.

He was a talented guy and I think he would do very well at CW, too bad he left too soon he was crafty loved the way he took out Goofi and beat up Briggs

I seriously doubt a guy who weighed around 215-220 could get down to 200, without weakening himself, don't think it's in the cards, besides most guy's wanna fight at heavyweight because that's where all the big money is...

That being said i believe he would have waxed Haye:yep

Sultan was clever...more so than his contemporary Chagaev, as proven by their respective bouts with Wlad. I think he would have definitely won a title or two at cruiser. I agree with Bummy in that I wish he hadn't retired so soon.

Think about it,..Iggy, with that awkward as hell southpaw style of his,..not imtimidated by Briggs, and not allowing himself to be overwhelmed by him like Liakovich was, and going 12 rounds without getting decked or beaten down by Wlad,. like Chagaev was,..spoke pretty well of him. I think he would have done even better with the cruiserweights. He could have beaten any of the cruisers, even Haye.

He would have definitely looked more fit as a cruiser.
