Does he have have an argument for being in a top 100 list? Certainly not the strongest resume of all time, and a very unflattering loss to Nunn post prime... But he also has one of the defining master classes of all time against an undefeated Mike McCallum, whom some consider the number one man of all time at 154. So, thoughts?
top 5 actually, now that i double check. just edging pac out of the number 3 spot, giving me slightly less credibility than Bill Gallo.
I've got him at minus five. The greatest fighters like Kalambay actually supercede the regular highest ranking of 1.
This'll be a wonderful thread to bump once this forum is even deader then it already is. Great stuff guys, thanks.
Steve Collins Herol Graham Mike McCallum Iran Barkley He beat all of 'em. I think that's impressive. Better than Joe Frazier's resume. Besides the Ali win, there's nothing on his resume that would constitute to a Top 50 ATG.
Ive never even CONSIDERED making a top 100 all time list... all I know is that Kalambay was one HELLUVA beautiful techncian to watch, and was a first class fighter who on the night he beat McCallum, would be a threat to outboxing several atg middleweights. He deserves to be in the HOF in my mind. ****in Brian Mitchell, and Barry McGugian are in the Hall... and nobody can tell me that those two guys were better then Sumbu.
