It's nothing to do with whether or not Toney is or isn't at his best Kalambay just has a poison style for him and as I said should be favoured based on styles.
I’d agree if he hadn’t have shown what he showed in the Nunn fight since we’d only really have his Reggie Johnson fight to go off of. But Nunn is even more of a stylistic kryptonite for Toney than Kalambay is, awkward, unpredictable and much taller and keeps his punches long, but Toney at his best was able to defeat a prime Nunn.
Nunn took amore chances vs Toney though he was actively throwing alot punches. Kalambay would be more economical with his output and would take less risks.
Nunn and Johnson also had difficult styles, yet Toney pulled it out because of the harder punches. It would be the same vs Kalambay
I mean, I agree that they're basically on the same level at 160, but by using that logic you could just as easily point out that Toney KOd Nunn and Nunn KOd Kalambay.
Toney would absolutely have to be at his best anything less and he loses. Toney I think has too many offensive weapons for Kalambay to deal with and Toney could counter very well.
