now that season is finished in the uk i really want to rebuild and basically become a beast for next season lol (picture miguel cotto in his terminator days loool)
can any1 vouch for the effectiveness of the clean and jerk for building explosive strength. i want to start incorporating some weight training into my training this summer.
    any advice would be appreciated

  2. I'll be honest, this is something i want to get to learn more about but a look at posterior chain exercises would most likely be a step in the right direction.

Your body has too 'learn' the chain of movement- this is why the Clean and Jerk is so helpful. Too many boxers turn there foot over and/or bend their knee but don't understand why. Don't get me wrong you can still punch reasonably hard without using the chain- but your selling yourself short. It muscle memory.

I've got quite a good understanding of it, what do you want to know?

What's the chain? I've never even heard of it before.

  5. I have a basic idea of it but I'm mostly interested in learning methods from experience and knowledge of the best exercises,

Celtic - Its the chain of muscles on the back of your body generating powerful movements and stability.

One thing you notice about Cotto is his strong chain as seen in his punching and training videos.
