Although promoter Bob Arum has declared the proposed superfight between Manny Pacquaio and Floyd Mayweather dead, there are still three more days for both sides to put aside their seemingly surmountable differences and still make the fight happen on March 13th. If published statements are to be believed, the boxers are prepared to walk away from a legacy-defining fight and guaranteed eight-figure paydays because they can't agree on whether Manny Pacquiao will have a blood test done 14 or 24 days before the fight. To sum up the dispute in the most neutral terms possible, Pacquiao has already agreed to take all tests required by the state of Nevada plus extra blood tests above and beyond the legal requirements, including in the dressing room immediately after the fight. A suspicious Mayweather wants truly random blood testing and can't understand why Pacquiao would refuse unless he has something to hide. But as long as the parties can come to an agreement by this Sunday, there would be one week for a quick press tour and eight weeks for training camps, just enough time to pull off a fight of this magnitude. Boxing fans still have a few more days to hope, and the prediction here is that the posturing will end soon and the fight will be formally announced at a Tuesday press conference at which time Pacquiao gives a blood sample in front of television cameras

my opinion is that this is not happening in march..are you telling me 2 months is long enough to do all the training, press conferences,24/7s,promotions etc

not to mention didnt freddie roach say he wanted a long training camp to prepare for floyd's style

no way in hell this happens in march

They can still get it done, shaffer said in the la times that because of the general public buzz for the fight, they dont need their usual time to promote!!

might as well have Pacquaio vs Clottey in March, Mayweather vs Berto/ Mosley in April then should they both win Pacquaio vs Mayweather in August

i see what you mean but how is 8 weeks really long enough to train for a fight of this magnitude...sorry but a part of me would rather see them agree a summer date NOW

have a warm up fight each and fight then

I wanted a summer date from the get go. I want be able save enough to go over and watch it plus the longer the build up, the more up for it you are. Look at Hatton-Mayweather the excitement was immense.

I think there is still time, but they are cutting it extremely fine now. Annoying a lot of fans in the process. In Pac's last fight the first press conference (as far as i know) was at the beginning of October .. so judging from this time scale of promotion through to the fight there is time. You say about 24/7 but HBO is a massive company.. i am sure they have got things on standby to start the 24/7 series on this fight.. Oh and I know Roach wants a longer camp and there are sill other implications but i am still hoping it is sorted for as soon as possible if not 13h March!
