Frank Warren:- If Eddie Hearn was my kid I would slap him down. his ego is awful. Frank Warren: Casino hotels in Las Vegas want to hold Wilder vs Fury 2 which could be more lucrative. Frank Warren: ''Tyson Fury is No1 now, end of story'', Warren said. It's all changed. Joshua is under scrutiny now. The public won't accept poor matches. He has become a corporate animal. Fury is the man of the people. He's a boxing genius.
Did notice the other day Hearn say he will keep the negotiations more private next time. I do think that was a case of his ego getting the better of him first time round.
If Warren really thinks Fury is number one he needs his head testing. In every quantifiable measure he's not. So why say it? All this 'Fury is the man of the people' stuff is already boring. When Tyson is selling out stadiums and doing millions of PPV sales then maybe he is. But until then, he's not done it. Sales for this fight both in America and in Britain were average.
I've seen 100k mentioned but nothing confirmed. I imagine we'll just be told it went 'really well' by Warren, just as we were told that we'd all be very pleased with the opponent for Yarde.
Can I ask what's wrong with Pulev? It seems pretty obvious what the narrative is here. If Joshua fights anyone except Wilder or Fury he's fighting bums. Whyte? Bum he's already beaten. Usyk? Far too soon at the weight and much smaller. Miller? Fat bum. Pulev? Old bum. Ortiz? Ancient bum. Point is, what can he do if Wilder and Fury rematch? That's literally the best the division has to offer.
At the end of the day it doesn't matter. Wilder vs Fury 1 was a massive success. Frank Warren has Eddie Hearn looking like a mo*g. Not only that Warren will most likely have another 2nd PPV event both sides of the Atlantic where as little Eddie and AJ are stuck over here with BIG questions being asked about them. I think personally they have been backed into a corner. The recent IFL TV interview shows it. Deontay Wilder & Tyson Fury are household names now. You even have MMA channels talking about Wilder & Fury. All eyes on AJ's April 13th opponent - Who will it be?
American stars talked about the fight - social media went into over drive - ESPN last week has been talking about the fight - 6 million juicey views - Wilder vs Fury 2 will be heavily promoted, so I predict 1 million PPV buys in America. Frank Warren is in the driving seat and Eddie Hearn is under serious pressure.
Hearn is the guy who's done the numbers. Warren is the guy who is going to do the numbers. Big difference. As for Wilder, heard it all before. This fight was going to show him to be a massive American PPV success story. Clearly that didn't happen. But next time? Just remember. Joshua did more against Takam than Fury did against Klitschko by a massive amount.
@TonyHayers Fury’s recent success really boils your p**s doesn’t it mate? You simply cannot help but let your dislike of him effect your judgement. Don’t get me wrong, it also goes vice versa with people’s dislike of the AJ brand. You yet again judge a fighter by the PPV’s and ticket sales. Warren says he’s number 1 for exactly the same reason Hearn says AJ is number 1 and that’s because they represent them. They both have a viable argument (try to leave your suit off for a second and think beyond ppv’s etc)...AJ has 3 of the 4 belts. He’s beaten everyone put in front of him. He’s been a phenomenal success. He hasn’t put a foot wrong. However....Fury losing the plot accelerated this success. He won these belts (that ended up in the hands of fighters who would never have got close to a belt otherwise) because Fury let them go. It could be argued that Fury is number one because he is the lineal champion of the world. He is unbeaten, he beat ‘the man’ and proved to everyone in 2015 that he was the best heavyweight on the planet. Technically, he is a brilliant boxer, P4P top 10 fighter without a doubt. In regards to skills, nobody comes close in the heavyweight division (Usyk might have something to say about that mind). It doesn’t matter what ppv’s or ticket sales you quote in return because that is a fact. He is the better boxer out of the ‘big 3’.
Warren will leach into anything that has £ signs on it. Fury is his ONLY big time earner so anything warren says about anything to do with Fury or the situation has a hidden agenda so let’s all accept the BS that’s gonna come out of both sides and hope the big fights happen. It does tickle me though when Mr ‘ I’m for the fans’ talks about Vegas being a credible venue. Let me think why ££££££££££ Do it in Manchester or London that’s what the fans want and to be able to watch it at a good time. Hope the fighters don’t get ripped off and are switched on to the BS train. Got a feeling that Hearn however has a part to play in whatever fight happens next.
In terms of tickets sold, titles held, Ring ranking, PPV sales, money generated, social media followers, not being banned for drug test fails yadda yadda yadda, Joshua is bigger than Fury. Fury has had a boost to his profile. No more, no less. Warren running his mouth about Fury being number one only makes it harder to imagine how negotiations would work for a Joshua fight which everyone wants to see.
