15 rounds at super-fly. Two lads with bell metal for chins and wet sandbags for fists just marching forth swinging to cave the other's noddle right the f*** in. Who've you got?
I literally don't think this is the type of fight that could be predicted. It would be a wild bout, absolute war, no quarter asked or given because that's really the core nature of both fighters. Any number of things could happen if the two were to fight, in my opinion, so a series of fights between the two would very likely see wildly varying outcomes... Perhaps one result a piece where either Galaxy or Moon is worn down in the middle to late rounds by the other fighter simply asserting themselves with their respective never ending offenses... You've got to say that Moon at the leakier defense, but outside of Contreras bout what noted punchers did Galaxy really take on, you know?
I lean towards Moon myself, though not with huge confidence. Apart from beating better fighters in general and showing that he could drive back a skilled big hitter like Konadu, I think he was a bit quicker and had better rhythm and timing, however unorthodox and awkward, once he settled into a groove. It's probably a classic though that takes years off of both men.
Moon had that kind of very rough around the edges Bonavena or Roldan like level of skill, picked up and refined over years of being punched in the face and leaving opponents face first on the canvas. They were artists of violence, fighters like Moon. There's a method to all of the madness inside of the ring, hard as some might find that to be.
Interesting fact...Galaxy's less accomplished brother beat Moon. True, it was at 118 lbs., but still............
Konadu was a bit green Zapata was shot Roman was well past his best Monserett had already been stopped by Galaxy three years earlier. ....and Moon lost to Galaxy's less accomplished brother.
I feel like Moon was strong, but Galaxy was freakishly strong, like for example, a 122 lb. Jeff Fenech. I think it's an exciting war, but Galaxy will gradually wear Moon down with his workrate and stamina and simply outlast Moon for a UD.
Moon had 15 world title fights in his 22 fight career. While Galaxy beat 7 world champions all by ko. Galaxy earlier in his reign came from behind to ko his opponents . But improved and became more technical and had better stamina and defense. This version would stop Moon late.
Khaokor was more talented and skilled than Khaosai despite being less famous and a different style of fighter altogether, him beating Moon was clearly better than anything Khaosai did in a single fight and it was at bantamweight where Khaokor was physically huge and Moon was relatively inexperienced at the time. Khaokor beat Vasquez too, he was a tremendous fighter at his best and passes the eye test with flying colours. The Espinosa oddity basically ended his career it seems. He also fought in a historically legitimate division and not an irrelevant junior weight class and faced the other relevant fighters in said division in his shorter career, which is something Khaosai never did throughout his long splinter reign. Konadu hadn't quite reached his peak when Moon beat him but he was still formidable and better than any of Galaxy's opponents. Contreras was green himself and Orono past it when Galaxy beat them, and Kim, the other half decent fighter who Galaxy beat, was very undersized - a natural flyweight. Even Roman past his best was probably on par with anyone Galaxy beat. It's fine to say that Galaxy beats Moon but there's no need to distort history to support the opinion.
Okay - i'll repeat what I wrote above: I feel like Moon was strong, but Galaxy was freakishly strong, like for example, a 122 lb. Jeff Fenech. I think it's an exciting war, but Galaxy will gradually wear Moon down with his workrate and stamina and simply outlast Moon for a UD.
Contreras may have been green but he's still one of the most destructive lower weight punchers of the modern era and a win over him is a great feather to have in one's cap... You can't forget that Contreras has a devastating KO1 where he frighteningly iced a Wilfredo Vasquez who was just about to go on a historical winning spree up at 122, and he also stopped the tremendously underrated Luisito Espinosa despite being nearly stopped early himself early, going down twice.
t Being a lover of redundancies, would you please tell us what you think wins this fight? !!!ahahahahahahaha ahahahahahahaha
Contreras was an evil puncher no doubt pal, but I've never rated him massively as an all -round fighter. Similar to Avelar. Very dangerous but not a top level talent. A good win to have on your ledger but when you factor that he might be Galaxy's best win, we're talking Ricardo Lopez levels of soft opposition.
