did anyone see the story on the front page of the paper this morning, it was confusing and poorly written but from what i gathered the police shot a woman and a guy was capsicum sprayed, he ran into an old ladys apartment and was later arrested, they mentioned that the guy was a kickboxer and i saw a photo that looked like Sunny Boi, does anyone know if he used to do kickboxing? heres the story http://www.smh.com.au/news/national...shooting/2008/12/21/1229794246563.html?page=2 ill see if i can find the photo i saw.
heres an article that says the guy was a 23 year old heavyweight boxer, sonny is older than that isnt he? http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,24832033-5006784,00.html it seems there is a lot of confusion over what happened, ive read several varying accounts now. cant seem to find the pic i saw though.
I saw it on the news last night and said to the missus that looks like Sonny in the paddy wagon but thought his ponytail looked a bit long. Didn't say anything about him being a fighter. Then I felt a bit racist because it could have been any black Mofo with a braidatsch
Sonni Michael Angelo was a kickboxer who fought in Europe specifically Germany prior to coming out to Australia as a boxer. Many boxing people in the industry have told me this & nothing would surprise me with him personally in regards to this arrest.
Where is he actually from though? Whats his nationality? Congo? Ecuador? He is a strange man...for that matter what happened to the poster jungle boy or whatever his name was...pure classic.
Supposedly now it states on boxrec that he was born & raised in Congo. When he first came out to Australia everyone was told that he was born in Bolivia & grew up in Congo. Who knows??
But Mr Angelo, who has spent time in Villawood Detention Centre, denies claims he was aggressive, saying he only followed the woman from the phone booth to ask her why she had poked him with the fork. "I just wanted to help her. I wanted to ask her why had done that to me and why she was walking in the street at 1am. That's all I was doing. I would not hurt a lady, man. I did scream at her and I did put her very, very gently on the ground - but that's all."
