Being reported on twitter than Sunny Edwards is going to challenge Moruti Mthalane for the IBF world flyweight title on 1st May on a Frank Warren show.

Good fight if it comes off. Mthalane has been around the block but has some good wins, including Tete and Casimiero.

However, he is 38 and hasn’t boxed since 2019. Mthalane is quite heavy handed but is slower on his feet. Sunny will want to box and move and be on his bike for 12 rounds. I imagine it’ll simply be a question if Mthalane catches up with him, and they’re probably gambling on his age and inactivity meaning he wont.

Think sunny should take this on points .but more due to the mileage on mthalane than Edwards being better

Good fight for Sunny given absolutely nobody is stepping up to face him for the British title.

Be interesting to see how quickly people step forward to fight for it when he vacates....

Dont know how this works. If no one is stepping up he doesn't have to vacate does he?

Not sure either.... but say he does win the world title, off the top of my head I can't think of anyone in recent memory who has held a world title and the British simultaneously ?

    Edwards on points.

Conlan and Tommy Fury also on the undercard.

If Frank can put Conlan in a good fight and possibly a reasonable opponent for Tommy this should be a good little show.

Can't see how Edwards wins this aside from a robbery

This is the UK- the new home for robbery’s. I heard Sven Ottke is coming out of retirement and asking for a BBBOC license.

I think Mthalane is too slow for him to be fair mate.

Wow..hes lost 15, won none and been stopped 13 times, how's he still got his license?
We know Tommy ain't fighting anyone for a long time yet and tbh I have no problem with that. Seems John wants to build him up and give him a load of learning fights which tbf is probably the best course of action, considering his lack of experience and been in a division where men can punch a lot harder than the lower weights.
However saying that, I do have a problem with him getting a t.v slot all the time. Fair enough once every 5 or 6 fights whilst he's still down there learning his trade, it is nice to watch him come along but not every goddamn fight he has.
