He got rocked in the first round and never mentally and physically recovered. Yafai stylistically had his number and would always have his number.

    Just a total beat down

Yafai was accurate from round 1 and Edward's had no answer

But he did look like he was about to have a breakdown and burst into tears when he said he didn’t want to be there I’ve never heard a boxer say that in middle of a fight and actually looked like he meant it

Of course he did, because he got rocked in the first round and he knew he had no answers, because Yafai was just too goddamn good at cutting off the ring and landing at will.

I’m not really in a position to comment when I haven’t seen the fight, but I think it’s more than that, sunny has been rocked and he was even given an out when he got that cut against curiel. I’m not saying it’s not a quit but it looked like something mentally wrong when he was in on his stool. I don’t actually like the guy, it was always a bad matchup for him like

I get what you mean. There was something about him in his last fight that made me think he should never fight again. I can't put my finger on it but he kind of looked defeated to his core and there was no point in this or something.
........or I'm just projecting some BS onto him.

It was a like he had woken up and came to some sort of realisation, that’s what I saw in his face and demeanour and no one can convince me otherwise.
He looked like he was going to cry, this lad has always took his licks and to be fair to him he still did, even having the feeling that he didn’t want to be there, it was like he lost his killer instinct.
I don’t believe that he was ever going to beat Yafai bad match up for him especially after getting bam’d, but I don’t believe he had the heart beaten out of him by Yafai, he was beaten mentally before the fight, he clearly didn’t want to be in there as he actually stated during the round break, he knew he had nothing left in him but he still got in there.
I really don’t like him by the way but I call it as I see it and I think everyone deserves a fair hearing.
The one thing that is almost universal about fighters is they live for the fight, that’s when they are at home, so it’s pretty telling that he had no desire to be there.
I didn’t know that he was fighting for the first time with his new trainer Chris Williams who is more used to training mma fighters like paddy Pimblett, that makes more sense now because I think any trainer who had worked with their fighter for longer than just one camp would have been able to see that his heart wasn’t in it anymore and would have pulled him out after hearing him say he didn’t want to be there and especially if they had witnessed the heart he had displayed in his career up until that point.
I think he actually deserves a lot of respect for having no desire to be in there but he still had no desire or interest in quitting.
He hung in there and got a licked up.
Fair play to him I just hope he gets some help and gets his head right.
