Yafai was absolutely excellent and Sunny shouldn’t have been in the ring - his mindset was totally off even if you look at how quiet he was prior to even getting in the ring when Kal Yafai was overseeing the hand wrapping.

When you've said you don't want to be in there, your trainer says your opponent's getting tired of punching you in the face, the ref tells you to show something and you don't, you're not fighting back at all, there can be no complaints about a stoppage.

 

Oh great, he's retiring. Now we can look forward to his annoying roadman, stupid accent on repeat as he will no doubt be pursuing a career as a commentator

If those rumours are true then punters that bet on gollum have been swindled royally. That consitutes match fixing

 

Taking nothing away from Yafai but Sunny, was just going through the motions in there, it will be interesting to see how he fairs against the champions.

Not surprised by the retirement announcement after that performance and what he said in between rounds, he was clearly just going through the motions, and Yafai didn't allow him any space.

Brutal for the fans in the arena though as it was a poor fight.

 

I feel sorry for the people who paid to attend that. Sunny shouldn't have wasted people's time if he didn't have it in him anymore.

With his featherfists, he's got a similar problem as Khan with the glass chin, they have to be at 100% every fight at the high level. If you're not living the life with those disabilities in the sport, you really shouldn't be getting in there.

 

On this note I thought it was poor to hear Sunny saying he didn’t want to be there and then after the fight saying he knew etc. Don’t go ahead with the fight then and con the fans out of their money.

 

Edwards was never any good. Somehow built a reputation as someone with Mayweather-like defences but he’d been put down by fighters like Marcel Braithwaite and Junior Granados.

No idea who was in his corner but they should have pulled him as soon as he said he didn’t want to be there.

 

Tbf for a brief few months Ritson was exciting and was absolutely pasting through opponents in quick time acquiring the “Geordie Golovkin” moniker.

Unfortunately it became apparent quickly that he was just on a hot streak with a fair bit of confidence.
