agree but only credit I will give him is he didn’t just fold - took a pasting and kept throwing rather than taking a knee or quitting on the stool…but probably a low bar when crediting a fighter for that.

Saying didn’t want to be there after coming in to the song he did is a bit unfortunate though…

Ritson was one of those who benefited from the Sky boxing glory days of 2016-20. Selling out Newcastle Arena every fight.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but I think his performance and retirement decision explain the change of trainer and why he looked so drained on the scales.

I think the camp for Yafai was vastly different from what he put himself through when he fought Bam.

Time will tell, though it could just well be that Yafai was that much better and Edwards found his level.

Edwards reminds me of Saunders in that he’s probably quite insecure but tried to be loud and cocky to convince themselves. Couldn’t handle defeat when it came.

The loudest man in the room is usually the weakest and all that.

This is likely very close to the truth; the biggest bullies are normally the biggest cowards too, as Joshua also discovered.

First shot Yafia landed on Edwards, buckled him, and the fight was effectively over from that moment.

Highly narcissistic are both Saunders and Sunny.

in his case I don’t think it was ever in doubt he was probably the weakest in the room…and to be fair I thought he took defeat with dignity. Used to find his fake charisma cringe but he’s shown more class in defeat than his persona suggested. An excellent world champion too.

Harsh to compare him to Saunders ha.

Sunny used to compare himself to Saunders all the time.

really? Ok I take back my defence. Not the best person to aspire too…cracking boxer but as a human…struggle to get anything interesting from his interviews even, no depth whatsoever just blessed as a boxer.

Full credit to both fighters, Gamal for a brilliant performance and Sunny for a brilliant career. I thought the experience as a pro would see Sunny through via Points pre-fight. Goes to show that you just don't know / can see what's going on inside a boxers head and body.

Thanks for injecting some sense into the thread.

Edwards was always overrated and never any good. Good riddance to good rubbish. I'll never forget the way the rat treated Danny Flexen of Seconds Out over chatting up his sister.

Never even bothered watching last night after looking at Edwards at the weigh-in as the lad looked ill, old and washed up.
