Interesting question. Only one Klit could be in it, because they wont fight each other. But either Klit by themselves would be too heavily favoured and would ruin the tournament. So **** them both off out of consideration. I can imagine a good fun tourney with a whole bunch of others. Mix it up for good variety. Off the top of my head I would select Chambers, Povetkin, Tua, Arreola, Toney and Peter. Not because they are the best of the rest - but because there is an interesting mixup of styles, experience levels and fanbases. Haye and Valuev would also be fighters who could be considered on that basis. Of course my choices are done in a pretty different way from the super six SMW tourney - and that tourney is awesome - so I would be interested in seeing who people would select based on the "best of the rest" idea.
chris arreola alex povetkin eddie chambers denis boytsov david tua odlanier solis the two who emerge with the most points fight each klitschko:happy
Keeping with the SMW's 3 from Europe and 3 from US. Only winner goes through, semi 1 fights Vitali semi 2 Vlad. If the Klits win then 2 losers fight tho guess by that time Vitali may be ready for the taking!! Haye Povetkin Adamek Chamber Arreola Johnson
HW fighters drew me into boxing, i nearly never watching them now though! Will be watching the Haye fight. If he wins will determine if i watch more!
The SMW super six isn't just about finding out who the best SMW fighter is. Think about it. Why is everyone so excited about the super six? Because it has a bunch of good fighters fighting other good fighters on a regular basis. The point isn't about just who wins - its about all of the fights that make up the tourney.
Boystov and Solis are very unproven. The top of the heavyweight division does not give a very good crop especially since the Klits beat most of them but Ruiz has only lossed to Valuev and Chugaev recently and all were close. I think Ruiz won both fights and I think he deserves a third Valuev fight because of this. Austin has been on a roll latley. I dont think he is that good but Ko s over Williamson and Golota and a gutsy performance against Ibragimov make him an interesting choice. Who else can be thrown in. Maskaev? Harrisson? Oquendo? Toney? It is very hard to determine. Any Klit the WBA winner Pov and Chambers are the obvious the rest is based on what you would like to see or who could generate interest
If you'rte not going to have the best fighters in the division then you mind as well scrap the tournament. The names being tossed around here are more reminiscent of a Contender series not a true big time super heavyweight tournament.
