Martinez is on his way to the HoF and absolutely not representative for boxers who are hyped up but haven't faced a single legitimate opponent until their 30th birthday. Bute's career is a more accurate depiction of what happens to most of them hype jobs. That said, Golovkin is clearly the one being ducked and not vice versa but it is what it is. His resume is virtually non-existant and if I remember correctly, Lemieux knocked bums out in a similarly spectacular fashion only to turn out utter trash. Or Shannon Briggs for that matter. As of now, there's nothing that suggests Golovkin is as talented as Martinez or even remotely close.
What is it with calling this BUM proksa Super "G"????.....****ing gets on my nerves"....proksa is so ****ing 1 dimensional...hanging his glass jaw out like his some white version of RJJ!...gtfo....getting beaten by a BUM with NO ko's...and then struggling with him in the return exposed him for all his worth....NOTHING!....POLES CANT FIGHT..PERIOD.
I commend Proksa for taking this fight because most other Middleweights seem happy to completely ignore Golovkin. I think Proksa's bravery will backfire though - I like GGG strongly in this one, probably by ko. Nice to see GGG and Lara actually getting fights if nothing else.
He should be fine fitness wise for this fight since he has had a fight recently, the main problem would be if he has any injuries from that fight. I read about he suffered some hand problems from the fight and if thats the case and he can't train 100 % then he chances of winning are even slimmer.
"Prime" is different from fighter to fighter.. The sport has seen plenty of late bloomers like Hopkins, Martinez, Wladimir etc.. Also Golovkin doesn't even have 25 fights yet and have not taken much punishment, so there is no reason to believe that he is going to be "past his prime" anytime soon..
Damn BALLZY move by Proksa. I would have liked for him to be fully prepared for his first title shot but he has his shot and is going for it.
Toughest fight in both guys career. Fair ****s to Proksa for stepping up. Great to see Golovkin get a decent fight. Hopefully the winner faces Pirog afterwards. I'm betting on Golovkin by stoppage.
I'm still really sour pirog isn't fighting golovkin. Proksa is like a b grade version of pirog, and I think he gets knocked out in this fight
