Dychko is a mystery to me. Incredible size and speed, volume punching. Seems to be similar to Tyson Fury in most observable talent aspects, but always came up short at the highest level in the ams despite alot of experience. Clear chin issues, but with his other gifts, he should still do better. Maybe heart or ring iq problems? Just don't know why he isn't a dynamo.

 

Amateurs and pros are wholly different beasts, so maybe things will come together for him.

Maybe. I'm rooting for him, I cheer for the bigger fighters tbh, just kind of feel like pro might be even harder for him. Chin issues more likely to be exposed.

 

Do you think he'll be a champ? I feel like anything other than that will be a disappointment. Most everyone except the crazy agenda driven haters probably expect him to be a top ten contender at some point. I'd love to see him be a dominant champ but just can't really see it right now. Hopefully he proves me wrong.

 

I honestly don't follow the amateurs/Olympics. I just don't care for it.

So I haven't really watched him fight.

After glancing at his fights for a few minutes, it looks like he doesn't really control the distance to any net gain.

He can backpedal quick enough, but when the distance shortens and it's time to exchange blows, he doesn't fair any better than his opponent.

I don't know. It's just an analysis based on a few minutes.

I can't quite figure out why though. Maybe copying Tyson Fury's feinting would help. Maybe improving his upper body movement. Maybe improving his punching speed so he can take better advantage of the exchanges.

 

He impressed me in 2012 London games, reminded me of Vitali in some ways but I have doubts about his stamina, he's a big man and he seems to fade quite badly. He better improve his stamina considerably because 12 rounds in the pro game is going to expose his stamina issues if he doesn't fix them.

 

This is why he's such a disappointment to me. He does remind me of Vitali. I don't think he's got the reflexes and certainly the toughness (or stamina, as you note), but he's even bigger and otherwise seems very comparable to Vitali. Can't quite understand why he hasn't done better than he has.

 

He'll definitely win some belts. Has too much talent not to. Remember a lot of people thought he beat Joshua in the semi's in 2012.

Now will he be THE GUY at HW?? I honestly think either Hrgovic, Usyk or Teslenko will claim that in the next 2 or 3 years. But Ivan will be among the best.

 

I wish him well but I am not holding out much hope. I have seen him fall short and have pacing issues for years in the amateurs. Being in Miami also might turn out to be a distraction but he is not a Cuban and as easily distracted by the night life.

 

27 is really late to be making a pro debut but good luck to him

 

Last I read he had signed to an Australian promoter who was going to fight him in China.

Looks like something's changed.
