Joe comfortably outworks Ward, if it's in Ward's back yard then expect consistent fouling, headbutts, nut shots etc.

Yep, I got calzaghe out working him and nicking the later rounds, despite a slower start

Fights close, but Joe will simply out work him

Calzaghe is too volumous for Ward.

I was thinking not that dissimilar to the Hopkins fight, with a lot of spoiling to slow the pace down and get little breaks in the action.
Ward like Hopkins didn't like high output, I think Ward moreso as his stamina wasn't as good.

    Exactly!
I wouldn't put my house on Joe, but i think he would be too busy

Ward may figure him out to win a rematch, but I think JC would surprise him with his unorthodox style and fitness

I think Wards strategy would be to rough house Joe and make it dirty, that worked well against Kessler and Froch, I agree it would be a slower start and Ward could come in with a better strategy in a rematch knowing what to expect, I think Joe's skill speed and output would be to much on the first meeting, it would be close only a round or two in it.

There are certainly fighters than Ward would do better than Calzaghe against, but the h2h matchup is quite problematic for Ward as he may just get outpointed by sheer volume.

Would be a great fight though, and hard to be too certain when dealing with fighters of this calibre colliding.

Calzaghe UD. Ward was nowhere near his speed and stamina.

    Ward.

Way too much ring IQ and pedigree

Calslappy is a fan favourite on here but he was a zero heart fighter - always pulling out of fights - until he discovered some balls after he beat Lacy.

It would be like the Hopkins fight a dirty foul filled scrappy fight that would be close on scorecards.

    Could go either way IMO.
