Prime for prime, how does this one go? 2 of the warriors who ushered in the golden era of British boxing.

I don't see why. Both were global, not just domestic.

Calzaghe on points or late stoppage, once Benn gets fatigued.

Joe had the energy of a meth addict. If anyone has ever had to trade hands with a crystal smoker you gonna be in for a fight no matter how hard or how much you hit this guy he's gonna keep coming.
Calzaghe maybe had too much heart and stamina for Benn once he gets going. Benn would drop him , maybe a couple times but if Joe stayed conscious and got up Benn would be in for a 36 minute fight that he must keep up or lose on points.

Joe has to be beaten to death if you want to win against him. Dude was "redneck tough" and that's no diss. He was a slapper by the very meaning but he had so much energy.

Benn had his frailties mainly gassing out but as he became more experienced he became more cute and conserved energy better.
Benn was capable of going life and death with anyone, just look at his fight late in his career with McClellan.
Calzaghe would probably eke out a decision here, but nobody and I mean nobody could be certain of anything against Nigel Benn. Warrior is an overused word in boxing but it is extremely apt when describing him.

Joe probably outworks him for a decision. Then again, he probably outworks most people for a decision. I wouldn't write Benn off though. He was a fearsome fighter when on song.

Joe by decision or late stoppage, work rate was too much, plus Joe would be the bigger man and would be able to tie Benn up if necessary. Benn would crack him a few times and I would put money on an early knock down but when Joe finds his rhythm and works Benn over he wins a convincing decision or stops him should Benn try and go for the kill
