In the build up to the Amir Khan V Paulie Malignanggi fight I heard a lot of people introducing Khan as the Super Lightweight Champion. I thought the 140lb division is known as Light Welterweight. So just to clarify is it Light Welter or Super Light?:huh

the whole junior welter/middle etc makes it sound like a title for 15 years old though

So if Khan wins another title at 140 (one of which the governing body recognises 140 as light welter) then technically he is a two weight world champion light weleter and super light even thought they are both at 140. Its pretty messed up!

Personally, I call it Jr. Welterweight or just simply 140lbs Division. Because there ain't a Damn Thing that's SUPER about a Grown-Ass Man that weighs a 140lbs. I know crack-Heads that weigh more than that.

No b/c regardless of what you call it...it's still the 140 pound weight class.

Only in your mind , in America its normal for that to be their name

    Floyd Mayweather JUNIOR

    roy jones JUNIOR

other parts of the world people hear junior they think kid, but that aint the meaning

they ought to change cruiser to super light heavyweight

Speaking of which I remember Evander Holyfield won the WBA JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP of the world , holy still refers to cruiser as that to this day

140 is the best way to put it. Light/junior have been around longer than this super crap i think.
