Froch's recent record is - agree with the decision or not - Pascal (now a light heavy champ), Taylor (former undisputed middle champ) and up and coming contender Dirrell. Apart from taylor, that's the best recent record of any of these guys, that's why you can argue number two.

I had Froch winning the Dirrell fight (because of the silly point deduction - neither deserved to lose a point imo - otherwise i'd have had it a draw), but Dirrell was the better fighter and would win a rematch (as the last few rounds showed). It's just the scoring system we have in boxing, I don't think it really works - a poorer fighter can easily win a legitimate, or at least, close UD.

Throw in Dirrell and there's the real super six.

Amazes me Bute is rated...I doubt Ward could have done any better than a lopsided decision against Andrade on his best day.

    My top 5:

    1. Lucian Bute
    2. Arthur Abraham
    3. Andre Ward
    4. Mikkel Kessler
    5. Carl Froch

This proof that Bute should have been in there. Andrade should have had Taylor's place.

Not sure how you conclude that. AA had the most used up fighter in the super six as his first fight, a guy that was not only coming off a knockout lose but he had lost 3 of 4 fights and two by knockout. Froch has faced better comp I doubt it that AA could have fought Pascal, Taylor and Dirrell and still has his 0. Time will tell, but for me AA was a big question mark going into the super-six and better a used up Taylor doesnt really change that. The fight with Dirrell will tell us much more.

Yep Bute should have been in the super-six. I can think of 3 or 4 fighters that would have been a better pick then Taylor.

Rated on achievements? So Kessler beat Andre Ward?

Doesn’t matter which champion people think is the best (WBC/WBA/WBO/IBF) only when they get in the ring.

And anyway, am I missing something or was Mikkel Kessler the best SMW in the world before Ward beat him?

Ward, Bute a tie for #1 based on their skills with Bute better in power and Ward with a better win.
Abraham and Froch tie for #2 based on their wins and power.
Kessler (still one of the most dangerous out there) is #3 and I believe he can bang his way back to the top.
Direll, good slick boxer but I want to see him more #4
there are some other good fellows in this amazing division but they have to beat one of the above to get my vote.
