Williams moving up is something I don't think will happen, at least in the near future. Hopefully he fights a puncher(lacking right now, unless he fight aa or pavlik) to see how his chin will hold up before even thinking about smw

    Supermiddle isnt the best division.

I think the most competetive matches can be made....but none of those guys are P4P material.

They are all around the same level. Ashame Joe wasnt around now because its 1000 x better than his era..where we had GLenn Catley , and co as champs

Certainly the most exciting division at the moment. I hope Balszay dosen't do an Erdei though and puts himself in the mix.

Hmmm, funny how times change so quickly. It wasn't so long ago that Calzaghe was ruling the division but 168 was regarded as being one of the weakest around!

Most of the boxers on the lists posted have been around long before JC quit....I'm slightly confused!

He will immediately be at the level of Armstrong if he can fight and dominate from 147 to 168 within a year.

Its early days i know but there is Fighter called Darren "dazzler" Sutherland fighting out of dublin, 168 ibs, aged 26, 2008 broze medalist:

    2 fights
    2 wins
    2 knockouts

looks really good, going to be superstar, really likeable guy.

It seems that is the path they will make for him.Unless some other Universum guys rise.

He's got a style more suited to the pro's than someone like James DeGale for example, but he won't be a superstar no way.

Just wait for Bute's nemesis to step up to a 168 lbs - Gennady Golovkin...but first, he might want to win 1 or 2 belts at middleweight :deal

In fairness, Catley was a good fighter, so was Beyer in his prime. But yeah, if they were around now they would merely be fringe contenders.

He has a long way to go to get to this kind of level.

 Maybe i.am a bit naive, because i also thinks come June 2009 Kessler will set him self free from Teampalle and then take on some real opponents.
Personally i would love to see Kessler take on any of the list above. Actually i would love to watch any fight with these fighters involved against each others :bbb.
Froch has set fire to the division and all fighters around it, will/has to be drawn into it.
Dawson, Hopkins, Pavlik and Abraham and all newcomers!!

(LOL: I.l guess Mundine then unifies 160 :shock:)
