Is hating on a great fighter all you are here for. Froch went through hell with Kessler, Dirrell and Johnson, So What makes him 1#???

Great list, 1# will be argueable until Bute-Ward so that is good, Andrade and Pryor Jr a little higher at least. DeGale, Davis good. I'd put Periban late on that list, Having Abraham on there is OK. But he will be moving back to MW in his next bout. Gonzalez bet Sierra so maybe a little higher but that is ok. Magee, Stieglitz, Kessler, Froch Bika, Johnson are all good. Quillin is down at MW I thought, Groves is far too up And Green is ok I guess, So overall that is a good list. :good

Interesting post. I try and base P4P ratings on results and achievements rather than just potential which can go unfulfilled. Here goes

    1. Bute IBF champ
    2. Ward WBA S champ
    3. Kessler WBC champ emeritus
    4. Froch WBC champ
    5. Steiglitz WBO champ

That part was easy. Now here goes for the rest. Possibly

    6. Balzsay WBA regular champ?? Maybe
    7. Magee WBA INT champ?? Maybe

I give up but think Bika, Groves, DeGale, Quillin, Johnson, Markussen should all be in the top 20

Quillin hasn't fought at 160 or below in about 8 fights now, and he beat Brinkley at about 166 not long ago, so I have him at SMW instead of MW. Not sure if his next fight will be at 160. Thanks though. There's not a lot separating the guys in the 1-4, 8-14 and 15 - 25 ranges.

You are obviously just taken in by hype. Read on...

I agree Bute hasnt fought the top guys yet but look at resumes overall

Bute beat Bika - better than Ward,
    Miranda - better than Ward,
Andrade twice, first time Andrade was #3 SMW
    Joppy,
Zuniga, better than Cloud and Cloud beating Zuniga has put him above Dawson
    Brinkley
Berrio - Holds a win over Steiglitz
Magee who was European champ and world rated fighter who hasnt lost in 10 fights and is now WBA INT champ
    Mendy undefeated

    Ward has beaten
Kessler - A very good win better than any name on Bute resume but remember that Kessler was an unwell fighter
    Miranda
Green - who lost to Miranda and was KOd in his next fight
    Bika
Abraham coming off of 2 clear S6 defeats and not wanting to fight at SMW at that time

Now Wards victory over Kessler (even if he wasnt unwell) isnt better overall than Andrade, Berrio, Zuniga etc.
Remember that Cloud scoring a victory on points over Zuniga put him above Dawson in The Ring rankings.
Andrade was in the top 5 when Bute beat him and Bute beat Bika years before Ward, so you could say Ward beat a post Bute Bika.
Magee is more accomplished at SMW than Green, Abraham and Bika.

As ratings go. Ward beat #1 Kessler, who beat Froch. Now Bute doesnt have a resume as good as Froch or Kessler, but does have an overall better resume than Ward. So Bute gets to #1 kind of by default

Maxim Vlasov is moving up to LHW, else he'd be in there somewhere toward the back end.

...that's fifteen. Must I keep on going, all the way to twenty? Really not a great division, outside of the top few.

If so, flesh out that bottom six with the likes of Edwin Rodriguez, Will Rosinsky, Shawn Estrada, Kenny Anderson, and Adonis Stevenson.
