A step down for Noakes for me when he should be testing himself against better opponents on the way to a World Title Challenge but still looking forward to his fight. Also looking forward to seeing the undefeated George Stewart going in as a big underdog against Masood Abdulah.
Was watching young George last year against Charlie Doig in a small hall show and thought I recognised the referee. My mates thought I was mad when I suggested he looked like the double of ex Pro Boxer Kevin McIntyre and the ring announcer confirmed it was him. This is a big step up for George and I hope he gives a good account of himself tonight.
Hopefully... but it's probably a little too big, I do like how Brits take the sink or swim approach with a lot of their fighters, but once in a while, a few gradual step up matches would be nice, like maybe, Stewart vs. Ashfaq first?
