The first two fights of the S6 tourney brought some changes to the Top20 of the BoxRec rankings.

At SMW AA is ranked first, even if he holds no belt, before Froch (2) and Kessler (4), Dirrell (6), Ward (7), and Taylor (12).

Which means, we have half of the Top12 in the S6 tourney, including 2 belt holders. Cool.

BoxRec ratings don't mean ****, as you know. Froch was ranked #1 and Kessler #4 (I believe) before last night, lol.

nothing wrong with their rankings which are based on past performance and level of opposition.

Boxrec has 4 of the participants in the Super6 in their top 6 with Bute and Bika filling up the other two spots. Bute and Bika are not only highly regarded but also considered to be more deserving of a spot in the tournament then .. oh Taylor.
The SMW ranking are roughly spot on.

I have no idea how they award points for their ranking. But I know the ranking doesn't mean much - it shows the opinion of BoxRec providers.

My ranking for the S6 fighters would be:

    1) Kessler - if he's not rusted, he's the winner
    2) Abraham - good defense, experience, game plan and POWER
    3) Ward - good overall fighter, not powerful enough to win
    4) Froch - aggression
    5) Taylor - experience and overall skills
    6) Dirrell - not enough experience; the skillset and speed is great; lost unneccessary to Froch
