I just found this schedule on my cable providers home page. I haven't seen a complete schedule anywhere else and I don't know if it's accurate. Could anyone enlighten me a bit? Fight 1 Carl Froch vs. Andre Dirrel October 2009 Fight 2 Jermain Taylor vs. Arthur Abraham October 2009 Fight 3 Mikkel Kessler vs. André Ward November 2009 Fight 4 Arthur Abraham vs. Andre Dirrell January 2010 Fight 5 Mikkel Kessler vs. Carl Froch March 2010 Fight 6 André Ward vs. Jermain Taylor April 2010 Fight 7 Andre Dirrell vs. Andre Ward July 2010 Fight 8 Arthur Abraham vs. Carl Froch August 2010 Fight 9 Mikkel Kessler vs. Jermain Taylor September 2010
I actually respectfully disagree. Case in point: Abraham's brilliant performance (and concern for JT's health, for that matter) has been far overshadowed by the Froch vs. Dirrell scoring "controversy" BS. Each fight should be its own event with appropriate simmer time in between.
Week? How about one per hour. Buffer reads one set of scores (or outcome) while the next pair do their ring walk.
You're kidding right? I'd like to see a 100% version of Jermain, entering with his best chance to right the ship. And if Ward is brutally KTFO himself next month, that should be enough time for him to recover as well.
This is true, but I'm thinking with the casual fan here. One fight per show might not put asses in front of Showtime on a Saturday night, you gotta entertain more to get good ratings. Maybe 10 stand-alone shows produce more ratings alltogether than 5 double headers, but if the double-header produces 1,5 times better ratings, it's better for the sport. Also, 8 one-fight shows KO about 20 undercard fights which would be broadcasted on regular ShoBox nights, but not on Super Six. From really a ratings standpoint, the best might've been an 8-man tourney with still 3 round-robin fights with the best 4 moving on, so all shows could be double-headers to keep the general public's attention. Maybe Fight Camp will fill the undercard's function (and it's gotta be goddamn exciting), but watching 4 Super Six fighters boxing instead of 2 is much better. Oh well, that's what we get, and it's still superb.
