It will be 41 months with Brian Magee, which is 7 months shy of 4 years. And then with the rate he's fighting, and this is his record since capturing the bogus title:

Took 4 months for his first defense against Joppy, then he took 8 months off to face Andrade in his second defense . After that humiliating display of glass whiskers he needed five months to lick his wounds and fight Fulgencio Zuniga. He then AGAIN took 8 months to rematch Andrade after a tuneup against Zuniga. After that... 5 months to face Miranda, and then 6 months off to face Jesse Brinkley :rofl:lol::rofl

Thats an average of 6 months lay off per defense. Which will land him at four years as a champion, with having fought a string of opponents that is totalling a number of ZERO elite opponents.

Sorry to say, but your hero is a disgrace and one of the most inactive so called champion in boxing. A total disgrace.

And whats your point, because Bute needed one year, 16 rounds in the ring and improvement on his baby bambi legs to defeat a C-level plodder like Andrade. He's shown better displays than Kessler who gave him a 12 round boxing lesson?

Sorry bud, this is boxing.. whats your ****ing point? :rofl

Lucian beat Tatevosyan by points whereas Carl Froch knocked him out in two rounds, so by default Carl Froch is the superior boxer and knockout artist, by your standards? :rofl:lol::rofl

Read the first post of this thread again, champ. All the top fighters at 168 say Bute is one of the best. All the journalists do the same. And then, a couple of teenagers like yourself say he's a paper champion.

    Who has more credibility? :nut

If your boy Kessler doesn't run away, Bute will have fought him before it makes 4 years.
Will you call Kessler a bum?

I'm glad they show eachother mutual respect, but the fact still stands.. and my post is littered with FACTS. Bute has not FOUGHT ANYONE IN 41 MONTHS.

    My boy Kessler? :rofl:lol:

Boy oh boy, Kessler has not fought in a year, suffers from double vision and has been recommended not to box. And to be honest, has looked pretty poor in his last few outings, he's not the same fighter, and I'm very much aware that Froch was probably his last good win and his last good performance. I hope he stays retired, period.

How convenient of them to try and make a fight with a guy who's injured and is on an eleven month lay off.:rofl

"Your boy"... oh gee whiz, you're cracking me up mate. My boy at least fought someone like Calzaghe within that time table, YOUR BOY Bute has not fought anyone, and his best opponent to date is someone like Andrade who is being passed for a gatekeeper these days. :rofl

absolutely. he's something to watch, a superb technician, and has been visibly gaining strength and speed over the past few years to boot.

some analyse a fighter just by his opponants.......

You can see that Bute is a hell of a fighter.

I don't need to wait that Lemieux beat the champion to see a lot of qualities with this kid.

There are loads of fighters with quality, there are less fighters who have the ability to defeat equally talented fighters.

Bute can keep on fighting bums in his hometown, thats what he's done for the past 4 years. But he'll never achieve greatness doing what he's doing, and he'll never sit good with hardcore boxing fans who follow and enjoy the sport, and have done so for a long time.

Magic, Bute is fighting Kessler in Oct if you haven't heard. I think now is the time to stop judging him about fighting bums. Who was Ward before the tournament in the pros? And what about Dirrell? Bute will get the chance that he wasn't rewarded like the other guys were. And if he does beat Kessler don't be a dick like President and downplay Kesslers position as a top SMW when it supports your argument.

If he is then I'll criticize them for taking on Kessler so soon after an 11 month lay off (still counting...) and a career-threatening injury.

Kessler is at the moment nowhere near ready for a top level fight, and shouldn't even be ranked right now. :patsch

I think Kessler is back in training already, so he is obviously feeling better. If the fight is in october he'd be able to take tune up bouts before then. Kessler, along with Dirrell, is the best there is in the SMW division who isn't currently in the tournament. You're going to criticize a guy taking on a top boxer who is fully willing to fight Bute, its not like the guy is being forced into it. I love how nitpicky people want to give it the angle of Bute taking advantage of Kessler's injury and layoff time. Kesslers got balls and we'll see who'll come out the victor by the end of the year.

Andre Ward: “I think Bute is a great talent and I would love to fight him one day to clear up this mess about who’s the best”

Andre Ward : On who he would pick to win if he was not involved in the Super Six and Lucian Bute were there in his place:
“Wow, that’s a great question. I would have to have Bute and Dirrell as the top two guys on my list. I always favor the type of guy—I’m stealing some words from Carl Froch, you know being in the Super Six with these guys, I’m learning a little something—but I would always favor a guy who can do more than one thing. Taking nothing away from the other guys, I think that if Bute was in the tournament and Dirrell being in the tournament, I think they have more tools in the toolbox so to speak. I would probably lean towards those guys, but that being said, the other four combatants—they demand respect. As we’ve seen with the seesaw up and downs in terms of who’s winning, nothing is guaranteed. That’s what makes the Super Six the Super Six and that’s what’s so exciting, but those two guys would be on top of my list to win the whole thing.”

But nobody knows how Kessler is, we all know for a fact inactivity does bad things to him and coming off 11 months and a severe injury that threatened his career, and probably still does?.

Nobody can say Mikkel is the best that is to offer still at SMW, Dirrell on the other hand is young and probably copes with inactivity a bit better, he'd far more acceptable as an opponent at this point.

can you give me one name that Bute should have fought in the last 2 years outside of the Super Six that would shut your mouth.

He is not in this xxxxx tournament and it's not his fault
