I know all six are top class fighters so no result would be a MASSVE upset, but I'm sure there will be a few surprises in this wonderful tournament. Here's my tip for an upset. I have a sneaking feeling that Andre Ward may well beat Kessler on points. I feel Ward is perhaps most similar in style to Calzaghe and also that Kessler is somewhat overrated. I still think Kess is a very good fighter, just not the monster many make him out to be, and he didn't exactly shine in his tune up last month. So I'm going to stick my neck out and go for Ward on points v Kessler as my main surprise in the group stages
Froch will pull out a tight UD over Dirrell by coming on strong in the final rounds. Taylor will shock Germany by KO'ing Abraham in the middle round.
To begin with, Kessler is one of my favorite fighters, and I think he'll take Ward out late in the fight, but that said, he was fighting against a very average, inexperienced fighter in Perdomo, and Kessler got caught again and again. Perdomo was jabbing him at will. If Perdomo can do that, what will Ward do?
I think there is the possibility of Taylor pulling a clinic on Abraham. Big step up for Abraham size wise and class wise, i also think that Taylor is to wise and liking his underdog status. I also like Taylor.... so come on Taylor.... wwaaaarrrrr!
Ward has much in common with Calzaghe but his style, technique and cautiousness reminds me of Hopkins, where as Kessler's somewhat robotic style, and basing everything off the jab, resembles...Pavlik. Thats what this fight will look like.
