There should be a change with weightclasses The original 8 was good but not quite enough classes Now 17 classes seems too much but if there already 17 we should just combine the 2 and have 25 weight classes Every 5lbs from 100lbs to 200lbs Every 10lbs from 210lbs to 240lbs Heavyweight above 240lbs Weight cutting is a terrible part of the sport that we need to get rid of essentially and level the playing field 1 way i thought maybe this could work with 4 sanctioning bodies is IBF n WBO have 100,110,120,130,140,150,160,170,180,190,200 220 240 heavyweight While WBC, WBA would have 105,115,125,135,145,155,165,175,185,195,210,230, and also heavyweight So there would only be 2 champions in every division except the big boys. Unifications would become undisputed championships besides at heavyweight where for the good of the sport we can have a AJ, fury, wilder and usyk as champions all at once but maybe have a tournament every few years for all the belts Am i crazy or could this sort of work maybe shave it down a little bit but even 20 divisions with a weight class every 5lbs for smaller classes and every 10lbs as it goes heavier but no more of this being a 4division champion from 105,108,112,115lbs (no shade at the little future legends coming up but this ain't no roy jones jr 4 division championship feat, still impressive but u get it) get rid of these small gaps and big gaps. Keep it proportionate. Thoughts??
With the current structure there are a possibility of 68 legit world champions (no WBA, WBC nonsense secondary titles) 17 weightclasses x 4 sanctioning bodies With this structure 12 weightclasses in each of the 2 sanctioning bodies x 2 of each sanctioning bodies being 24 possible champions for each sanctioning body (48)with an extra 4 possible heavyweight champs making a possible 52 champions which would only be 1 extra champion then the possibility of champions before the WBO was considered a legit world title. Even without the crazy sanctioning body secondary and interim titles theres too many champions in boxing we need more classes less champions and we wont have to worry about weight bullies and dangerous weight cuts as well as nobody losing titles on the scales.
It would take a team of thirty thousand engineers, working for nearly a decade, to design a vehicle that could plumb to the crushing depths of my disappointment in you.
LOL. Srsly tho any thoughts on a better weight class structure with less champions? Anyway it could work?
One champion per division. King of the mountain, not king of the franchise fees or paycheck. Make mandatories mandatory and murder every greasy promoter that reeks of cheap cologne, obstruction politics and shame.
PBC belt = UNDISPUTED CHAMPION then I like fast eddie but even with his cologne being designer made it still reeks to me Uncle Al is the only promoter (adviser, manager anyword but promoter lol) that doesnt reek of cheap cologne, bad politics and shame. Righteous Al saved boxing and thats the only way to save the sport then..#PBCundisputedBelt
Ok so how about getting rid of 108,115(good class but move up 3lbs) 122, 130 (great class move up 3lbs) lightweight move down 2lbs, 154 becomes 155, middleweight and SMW become 165. Cruiserweights decide if they want to drop 10lbs to 190 or inbetween but option to put on up to 15lbs and the big boys r 216lbs and up for heavyweight So 105, 112, 118, 126, 133, 140, 147, 155, 165, 175, 190, 215, heavyweight 4 sanctioning bodies all change and agree on the weights and cutout welter middle whatever name weights and we all go by the champion of whatever number weight class besides heavyweight So that would b 13 weight classes times 4 possible champions would be 52 possible legit world champions but with the cream of the crop moving up or down in weight the best would fight atleast the top heavy of the best more often and have more unifications to keep more unified champs and cut that 52 champs to maybe 30 or 40 with each weight class having its known best champ from each division
