This is my order, i dont count Matthysse fight as a win. 1- Cory Spinks 2- Demarcus Corsley 3- Jan Bergman 4- Junior Witter 5- Rafael Pineda Another good is Terron Millett Thoughts
Judah lost to Pineda imo. That was a terrible performance by Zab considering that Pineda was ancient. To put things in perspective, Whitaker shut out a prime Pineda MANY years before. I agree with your top 2. The Spinks rematch, and the Corley fight were his best two performances. Might also wanna note that Judah scored a WIDE decision over Mickey Ward.
It'd be interesting if a prime Judah was at 140 right now. He'd probably be top dog. Neither Josh Taylor nor Regis Prograis has faced anything like prime Judah's speed and power, and theres no guarantees they could handle it.
When he was coming up he was something. Slick and had some pop. He beat alot of good boxers. Beat Chop Chop. Beat Witter. Ward. Millett. Spinks. But the one win that impressed me was when he destroyed David Sample in one round .Sample was slick so I thought he would give Zab some rounds but Zab finished him in one
I'd throw the win over Ward on that list, since Zab fought with uncharacteristic focus in that one, even though Ward was pretty limited. It's also hard to know where to rate the win over Millett. On one hand, Millett crushed 'Cool' Vince Philips, but per Jim Lampley, Philips lost a dangerous amount of weight in the weeks prior to the fight, and he fought like it. Philips looked like a shell of the guy to shredded Micky Ward and stunned Kostya Tszyu. Meanwhile, other than the win over Philips for the title, Millett didn't do a whole lot: stopped by Sharmba Mitchell before the title win, and then vanished after losing to Zab and Gatti. The point is...there isn't enough evidence to evaluate how good Millett was as a titlist, and therefore its hard to evaluate how good the win was. The Junior Witter win looks good in retrospect because Witter turned out to be the best Ingle protege of his era, but at the time Witter was a novice, and was a short notice substitute. The reviews among the press were negative toward Zab as well as Junior, who fought very negatively. Zab looked spectacular when he punched Jaime Rangel's lights out in December of 2003. It really stood out because it happened on the same card as John Ruiz' waltz with Rahman and Mayorga's uninspired loss to Cory Spinks. His TKO of Kaizer Mabuza was a good one too, since Mabuza had forced Kendall Holt to quit on his stool. Lots of people (me included) thought Mabuza would be the guy to show Zab the door. I'd probably have the list as the following: 1.) TKO 9 Cory Spinks (no arguing this one. Zab was on fire that night) 2.) TKO 3 Cosme Rivera (Zab short-circuits a tough contender with ease) 3.) W12 'Chop Chop' Corley (good scalp. This was before Corley started sleep-walking through fights) 4.) TKO 4 Jan Bergman 5.) W10 Micky Ward
