:good Thanks - didn't know that. I haven't seen the fight, so was just going off what was shown in this clip.
I think it gives a good idea of what it's like to go to big british title fight. Bear pit springs to mind
Glad to be of help. The ref deducted a point off of Haye right after the second knockdown of the first round. He gave Ruiz the 8-count (he ruled it a knockdown as Ruiz was already beginning to fall even before the rabbit-punch) and right after that he deducted a point.
Great video, but Haye is goddam lucky he didn't get DQ'd. I'm not a big Ruiz fan, but those punches to the back of the head were b****
Aside from the power of Haye, I must say i was pretty impressed at his bending and pivoting at the waist. He was slipping punches very nicely.
The atmosphere there was amazing, its going to be hard for anyone to come over here and beat Haye if they have any nerves at all going in. If Haye fights Wlad at Wembley I give him a significantly better chance of winning that fight, although for some reason I think Vitali would thrive on it
I hope Haye turns out to be The One. He s got everything we need for a great champ- to revive the sport and take over from Manny and Floyd. Skills, Charisma, speaking, looks, speed, power, dedication. Pity he s a Pom is all. ;-)
btw that ref should never work again, how the **** does a KO get scored- AND a point get deducted for the same hit?!?! its either one or the other, he clearly got confused in the situation and let his judgement get affected- such refs should nt work, being able to think in a high pressure situation is critical for ref- not just knowing the rules and when to break. this guy ****ed it. we need to have stricter regulations for refs and judges- 3 strikes and your out is fair i think
Always love seeing the fights from that vantage point. One of my favorite angles. The steadicam operator did a sensational job shooting Ruiz when he was pacing back and forth. Shocking to realize that was hand-held. It looked like he was on tracks going back and forth on a dolly from broadcast. The Brits are as good as it gets in production. Some serious badasses behind the scenes out there.
