Not on a world scale but for the UK Scott Quigg v Carl Frampton was much anticipated. Everything was there, a bit of animosity between the fighters, the contrasting styles it had everything in place to be a humdinger. In the end it turned into a damp squib with both fighters seemingly terrified of each other. What a let down.
No. Qawi was hit by a full Spinks Jinx right hand in the first and tucked tail and said, "Not tonight!"
Me neither, maybe the detractors see him as , slow, one dimensional, a tad robotic which in the clod light of day he might appear so, to me he was truly implacable , he exuded supreme confidence, an indomitable will to win, he knew they were inferior, and he would prove as much later rather than sooner, nothing flashy, no bad mouthing ( generally ) go in the ring beat your opponent and leave. Only see SRR, Greb, or Hagler having any chance of victory over King Carlos.
He is anything but boring. I rewatch his fights all the time. The first Monzon-Benvenuti fight never gets old to me. In fact, it's on due for another viewing soon.
Really, Monzon-Napoles was as good of a fight as could realistically occur between them, considering the weight and height differences. I think you're right about those guys, however, Monzon would not be a significant underdog at all.
